My observation of women in a position to exercise power, power meaning the ability for them to make decisions about resources and control the destinies of others. And to do this without seeking approval or second guessed. The majority of the women I knew, the power created imbalances. Maybe it was because they had spent a considerable amount of their careers being ignored and not having a voice. These women became over controlling and territorial once they obtain positions of power. The flip side to this is maybe if women were given gender equity in the workplace, and if there was a shift from this unconscious biases often echoed about women, they would spend less time trying to prove themselves worthy and concentrate on being successful leaders. Studies show that most people prefer to be supervised by a male. What’s your preference male or female?
